Germany is a great country with so many awesome places and sites that it is hard to limit their number. The country is situated in the heart of Europe and tourists from all continents travel here to see amazing places of natural beauty, incredible castles and other architectural treasures, but also to enjoy unique and fun activities. As with any other trip, you should plan your travel to Germany depending on what you personally prefer. But, let’s just mention several things that will give you an idea of what the country has to offer.
1. Berlin. And not only because its historic landmarks such as Checkpoint Charlie and the Brandenburg Gate, this city, once divided, is widely famous for a lovely cultural scene and cool bars. Berlin is now more popular than ever as a creative center for arts, design, fashion, music etc. What makes Berlin special as a cosmopolitan city is a retained laid-back and tranquil atmosphere. A must see site in Berlin is Pergamon Museum offering something for everyone: Antiquity Collection, Islamic Art Museum and Middle East Museum.
2. Neuschwanstein Castle. The most photographed castle in Germany has more than 1.3 million visitors annually. It is commissioned to honor composer Richard Wagner in 1869.
3. Octoberfest in Munich. Munich is a nice city to visit, but if you want to get a taste of festive times, visit it during Oktoberfest. The entire city becomes wild and alive celebrating, drinking tap beer and enjoying the good times. There are many parades, carnivals and rides.
4. Black Forest. The motto of its natural parks is “use it or lose it”. You can discover Germany’s largest nature reserves in so many different ways. The area borders the farmland and hilly meadows to the east and the fertile Rhine valley to the west. In Black Forest you can fins swathes of woodland, cultural centers and medieval towns such as Freiburg and Baden-Baden and the highest hills in Germany.
